Hugh Le Caine - Compositions and Demonstrations 1948 - 1972 (LP)
Canadian scientist and composer Hugh Le Caine built things. From an early age he built musical instruments and electronic devices. It wasn’t long before he started combining the two. Some of these inventions formed the basis of two electronic music studios, the first two in Canada. One at the University of Toronto, the other at McGill University in Montreal.
Over the years Le Caine composed a number of short pieces and studies that were intended to explore and demonstrate the possibilities of the new instruments. Le Caine approached these pieces with the same imagination and originality that is evident in the instruments themselves. These are those possibilities.
