Null Set - New Job (12")
Null Set recorded their sole release, New Job, as students of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1980. The four members (Chris Cooper, Ron Dickie, Allan Scarth and Heather Ferguson) no doubt helped to kick-start a nascent post-punk scene way out in the far-flung, student-heavy, Halifax area. The EP has an almost naive angular funk, fantastic electronics, and unbridled experimentation that make Null Set seem like the Canadian cousins of Kyoto’s student mutant-funk group EP4. Or a less accomplished and looser version of Fist of Facts or The Pop Group. Essential Canadiana.
EX - Unplayed vintage stock, some minor wear/creasing on cover. Some minor warping DNAP.
