William Eaton - S/T (LP)
William Eaton’s first album from 1978 has a very well deserved reputation as part of both the American Primitive and New Age canons. Eaton plays standard six-string along with a stable of self-made string instruments which he process with reverb, phasers and panning. The wondrous results sound languid and ethereal, something like Robbie Basho using Laraaji’s Celestial Vibrations effects. I could easily disappear in the stunning artwork while listening to this masterpiece repeatedly.
