V/A - Music Industry Arts '82-'83 (LP)

$85.00

Music Industry Arts are a series of compilations released by the Fanshawe College music department. The nine compilations, released between 1979 and 1985 are an astonishing archive of nascent talent captured in a savvy studio environment by the program's gifted students and staff who take different roles and play various instruments; switching from engineer to performer to songwriter, song to song. They also showcase emerging studio techniques and a range of musical styles that evolve over the decade, from introspective folk to affirmative new wave. Most of the artists only appear on these compilations, without any other known recordings -- a brief but remarkable musical flourishing.

This compilation from 1983 contains the astonishing Sounds So Nice by Don Bregg, a breezy boardwalk with Bobby Caldwell in the key of Stevie. The other Bregg cut as well as the Donald Braeithaupt track are also held together by a generous pretzel logic.

VG+ vintage copy with minor wear on cover.
